Telephone calls and online booking
We encourage you to reserve telephone calls for URGENT matters only.
Although we have 10 lines we get approximately 400-500 calls a day and you may experience a long wait time particularly during the hours of 9am to 12 noon.We monitor our calls to ensure quality of service.
Please explain the nature of your call , for example , a form , appointment, and other non medical queries, to the receptionist as she may be able to help you immediately. Please be assured if you are required to leave a voice mail your call will be returned within 2 business days, however due to large call volumes we cannot return calls for making appointments.
We do offer online booking for appointments and messages at myhealthaccess.ca .
Please try to see your own Family Physician as this will ensure continuity in your care.
Long term medication requires close follow up and therefore, we prefer to renew prescriptions in person as this allows us to monitor your health. In order to avoid problems with repeat medications please ensure that you make arrangements to see us about 7 days before the medication finishes.
Refill prescriptions over the phone or by fax are done in exceptional circumstances only and may take 24-48 hours to complete.
If your test results require any action then then our Medical Office Assistant will call you to arrange an appointment. All other results will be discussed at your next scheduled appointment. If you are at all concerned or worried please call the office and arrange for a follow up appointment. We are unable to give results over the phone due to privacy and confidentiality concerns. We do encourage our patients to sign onto myehealth.ca to be able to view blood results online.
From time to time you may need to see a specialist to help in the management of your condition. We make the initial appointment for you.
Please note that the wait time for specialist appointments can be weeks or months and sometimes a year. If you have not heard back from us within 3 weeks please call us and we can track the progress of your appointment and see if we can determine the wait time for that specialist.
For Medical imaging appointments (CT scans and MRI) we will contact you but the wait time can vary from 3-12 months.
If you need to change the time of your specialist appointment then usually we ask you to contact them directly. Many specialists do bill for missed appointments and you may also not be able to rebook an appointment with them if you miss your appointment.
PLEASE NOTE THAT ABUSIVE OR VIOLENT BEHAVIOUR IS NOT ACCEPTABLE AT OUR CLINIC AND PATIENTS WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE SHOULD THIS OCCUR.
