Abusive & Violent Behaviour
- Amari Medical Practice staff will not abide abusive or violent behaviour of any kind towards its staff, patients, or colleagues.
- This includes, but is not limited to:
- Physical, mental, and verbal abuse
- Destruction of property and theft
- This includes, but is not limited to:
- Abusive & violent behaviour of any kind will not be tolerated.
- Those in violation of this policy will be asked to leave.
- If that party does not leave the premises at once, the police will be called immediately.
Appointments
- We encourage you to make appointments in advance.
- We are not a walk-in clinic.
- Our physicians typically book 1-2 business days in advance.
- It is helpful if you let us know the nature of your visit so that we can schedule an appropriate amount of time for your visit.( e.g. PAP, Test Results, Prescription Refill).
- We offer online booking: myhealthaccess.ca
- We encourage patients to book with their family doctor, as each physician has their own individual family practice.
- 24 hour notice is required for all cancellations & re-bookings.
- Less than 24 hours notice will result in a $50 late-cancellation fee
- No-shows will result in a $50 no-show fee
- Each late-cancellation & no-show fee is per patient, per appointment.
Telephone Calls & Online Booking
- We encourage you to reserve telephone calls for urgent matters only.
- As we operate a call queue system, please be aware:
- All calls are answered in the order in which they are received.
- Please do not hang up & call again, as you will end up back at the end of the queue.
- Voicemails will be returned within 2 business days.

- Online booking is only available with the patient’s family physician.
Prescription Renewals
- We do not refill prescriptions via fax or phone.
- Long term medication requires close follow-up. Therefore, the physicians prefer to renew prescriptions in person. This allows the physician monitor your health.
- Please book an appointment with your physician to refill your medications.
- Ensure that you book an appointment at least 7 days before the medication runs out.
Test Results
- Results will not be provided via phone or email due to privacy & confidentiality concerns.
- Reports must be reviewed with the physician prior to release.
- Our staff are unable to interpret lab results & will not comment if asked.
- If your test results require action, our staff will call you to arrange an appointment. All other results will be discussed at your next scheduled appointment.
- If you are concerned or worried please call the office to arrange a follow up appointment.
- Please understand that it can take up to 10 business days for our office to receive results.
- We encourage our patients to sign up for https://myehealth.ca/ to be able to view blood results online.

Referrals
- From time to time you may need to see a specialist to help in the management of your condition.
- We make the initial appointment for you.
- If you require moving or re-booking for a specialist appointment, you must contact the specialist’s office directly.
- Many specialists do charge for missed appointments.
- Some specialists offices may not allow you to re-book an appointment with them if you miss your appointment.
- Please contact the specialists office directly regarding their office policies.
- Wait times for specialist appointments range from 2 to 24 months in most cases.
- If you have not heard back from us within 4 weeks, please call the office so that we may look into your referral status.
- Wait times for medical imaging appointments range from 2 to 24 months in most cases.
- We will contact you via telephone or email regarding your imaging appointment once it has been arranged. (if applicable)
